According to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, 93 people, including children, have died due to floods created in northern areas.

After the inter-ministerial meeting on Saturday (August 19th), the information secretary of the Ministry of Relief Shah Kamal told reporters.

Statistics of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief says that this year 133 upazilas, 43 municipalities, 855 union and 5469 villages have been affected due to floods this year.

In the meantime, shelter centers have been opened for flood victims in flood prone areas. There are 986 total shelters for flood victims, 402669 people have taken refuge in these shelters.

So far 3197 education institutions, 14,737 of the total damaged homes and the number of homes damaged by partial flooding, 2447,826, have been stopped due to the disruption of the flood and the school being drowned. The total cropped area of ​​the flood affected areas is 618,709 hectares.

Mohammad Omar Farooq Dewan, Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Disaster and Relief said that no man died due to floods this year. However, the number of people killed by snakes, falling from the sanko or drowning alone in the water is 93 people. 14 people missing
